Martha H Scott, graduation 1903 (GUAS Ref DC233/2/22/2/42)

Martha Hunter Scott graduated MB ChB from the University in 1903, making her the first Australian female medical graduate.
Scott was born in the town of Belfast, Victoria, and first enrolled as a student at Queen Margaret College Medical School in 1896,only two years after the first female graduates of the University. Scott graduated MB ChB with commendation in 1903, returning to Melbourne, Australia, where she practiced as a physician.
